ExcelGuard rust preventatives are applied to metal surfaces during manufacturing, in-process handling, storage, and transport to create a protective barrier against moisture, oxygen, and contaminants. When corrosion is left unmanaged, it weakens structural integrity, damages components, and leads to scrap, rework, and costly delays.

These products are typically applied after grinding, machining, or washing to maintain part integrity and ensure protection lasts through the next stage of production or shipment. Solvent, oil, and water-dilutable options allow the protection strategy to match your operation, workflow, and downstream requirements.

Spray, dip, or brush applications are selected based on part geometry, process flow, and the length of protection required to keep production moving without interruption.

Protection can range from in-process and short-term handling to extended storage, depending on the environment, packaging, and exposure conditions. The expected duration varies significantly by product type and must align with how long parts need to remain protected within your operation.

• Short-Term (Overnight/Weekend): Ideal for quick protection and, in some cases, may allow parts to move to the next step without additional cleaning.
• Medium-Term (Several Weeks): Suitable for storage between production stages where consistent, reliable coverage is required.
• Long-Term (Months/Years): Often involves heavier oil or solvent-based films built for outdoor storage or international shipping conditions.

• Water-Displacing: Designed to remove water from metal surfaces immediately after washing so trapped moisture doesn’t create corrosion risk.
• Film-Forming: Creates a physical barrier (oily, waxy, or dry) that prevents contact with oxygen and water.
• Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI): Emit protective vapors within enclosed packaging to defend metal surfaces, often used together with barrier coatings.
